What you'll do;
Lead the future way of working around 3D, from the first idea to a sellable product. As a part of the IKEA core 3D team, you will help build our future 3D platform, serving the needs of development, supply and marketing equally.
Act as a thought leader and architect for our 3D platform, ensuring that external and internal partners build solutions that fit within our overall strategy. Being an operational leader, you will be responsible for ensuring tools, systems and automation for producing communication assets across 3D. You build it, you run it, you own it - Including budget management, standups and retrospectives.
Organise resources; lead the IT product development team.
Help define overall infrastructure/strategy and define key technology pillars.
Act as a mentor for junior colleagues.
Identify and understand business needs and translate them into actionable tasks.
Clearly communicate input expected from business and what output they will receive.
Act as a technical expert when dealing with 3rd party suppliers.
Develop the business and deliver results.
Lead and develop people.
Inspire and clarify.
Find better ways.
What you'll need;
A true passion for 3D and digital communication, driven both by solving an end to end need as well as deep-diving into specific problem areas. To find fulfilment in mentoring junior co-workers, explaining solutions and constraints for non-3D co-workers, and solving complex problems as part of a team. Passion for, and experience in, agile environments.
C# / C++ / Python
Education and work experience leading a project or operational teams within IT specific development within systems and tools.
Deep understanding of computer graphics, offline and real-time as well as asset pipelines.
Proficient user of git.
Knowledge of common 3D DCC programs.
Knowledge about game engines like Unity 3D or Unreal.
Knowledge of 3D rendering processes and render techniques such as distributed rendering, texture baking and mesh simplification.
English language skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to communicate IT related topics both in a clear and simple way (business language) as well as technically detailed for development briefing.
Capability to identify and prioritize the high-level initiatives in such a way that development is following our strategy whilst still delivering incremental progress that can be implemented into the business.
Able to take initiatives on matters that could have a positive business and relationship impact.
USD experience is a plus.
In addition to this role, we are also looking for a 3D Technical Specialist. If you have a passion for 3D development, with strong experience in a commercial environment, then this might also be worth considering.
