Job description

ABOUT THE JOB

To maximise sales in assigned HFB and to be a source of knowledge and expertise for the team. To have a deep knowledge of the range, local market, the customers, the store layout, the IKEA digital tools and the experience and expertise of colleagues. Support the efficient work of the IKEA mechanical sales system to ensure the continued execution and success of the IKEA Concept. You are required to contribute in order to fulfil the four tasks of the IKEA store:
• To act as a highly efficient, and staffed sales mechanism
• To show home furnishing solutions full of inspiring home furnishing ideas
• To serve as a well-qualified home furnishing specialist
• To provide a day out for the whole family.

YOUR ASSIGNMENT

  • To ensure that the area of responsibility is clean, tidy, priced and fully stocked, and that the merchandising basics are in place at all times.
  • Passionate about the products and actively learn about their features and benefits, and proactively share this knowledge with the customers and colleagues.
  • To be the ‘expert’ in the area and translate this knowledge and competence into business opportunities.
  • Work with the manager to improve range presentation by ensuring it appeals to our local customers and encourages them to buy more.
  • Encourage the customers to give feedback and offer solutions to frequently asked questions.
  • To know about all the services offered in the store such as assembly, kitchen installation, delivery and finance, and use the knowledge to help customers make informed choices which results in a better shopping experience for them.
  • Have confidence and want to listen to complaints from the customers; then use the knowledge of both the product and how the IKEA organization works to offer informed solutions that ensure customers leave the store with a positive impression.
  • Comprehend the department’s working routines and follow them. Also proactively maintain the safety and security of my areas for customers and colleagues, and am conscious of safety at all times in our store.
  • Able to identify the presence of any buying barriers.
  • Actively approach customers when recognize that the mechanical sales system is not meeting their needs. Be able to demonstrate & explain the products and support customers by providing clear, accurate and structured guidance through the planning/buying process.
  • Ask relevant questions to understand the customers’ needs and support them in their buying journey by providing accurate information and suggestions that will help them make the buying decision.
  • Use the experience & competence to support the customers & colleagues with professional solutions to fulfil their requirements.

Qualification
  • Confident to approach and talk to people.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations.
  • Attention to details.
  • Persuasive and confident.
  • Deep knowledge on the use of the relevant digital tools, eg Home Planner.
  • Coaching and training skills.
  • Good personal discipline.
  • Minimum 1-year selling experience in IKEA.
  • A flexible approach and open to change.
  • Possess initiative.
  • Ability to prioritise and organise work to make efficient use of the time available.
  • Experienced working in a fast-paced environment..
